Combating Autism: Grant Programs

 

Autism Intervention Research Networks

Two research networks will develop evidence-based guidelines, validate tools for interventions and disseminate critical information on research findings, guidelines and tool validation activities to health professionals and the public, especially families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities.

  • The Autism Intervention Research Network on Physical Health. A $4 million cooperative agreement was awarded in FY 2008 to the General Hospital Corporation of Boston. Research will focus on interventions to improve the physical health and well-being of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities.

  • The Autism Intervention Research Network on Behavioral Health. A $2 million cooperative agreement was awarded in FY 2008 to the Regents of the University of California at Los Angeles. Research will focus on the behavioral, mental, social, and/or cognitive health and well-being of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities.

MCH Autism Intervention Secondary Data Analysis Studies Program. This program supports research on evidence-based practices for interventions to improve the health and well-being of children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities, utilizing exclusively the analysis of existing secondary data.
