Regions IV, V, VI Infant Mortality CoIIN Meeting October 1-2, 2013

On October 1-2, 2013 participants of the Regions IV, V, VI Infant Mortality Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Networks (CoIIN) met in Alexandria, VA.  This meeting brought together a diverse group of state health officers, state MCH directors, Medicaid directors, and local/regional partners and stakeholders – including key partner organizations including the Association of Maternal and Child Health Program,  the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, and Abt Associates.

The meeting objectives were:

  1. to provide a forum to focus on implementation support for CoIIN strategies and state infant mortality plans;
  2. identify the successes and challenges of state efforts to date; and
  3. inform plans for sustainability of state and regional efforts, as well as the national roll out of the Infant Mortality CoIIN.

Regions IV and VI states were able to share successes and challenges of their state efforts and develop sustainability plans for their state and regional efforts. Region V states were able to benefit from the shared lessons learned from Regions IV/VI and affirmed their regional CoIIN strategies and began to lay the groundwork to pull together CoIIN Strategy Teams. AMCHP staff, along with partner staff, provided facilitation for the state team meetings and CoIIN Strategy breakouts.
