Overweight and obesity among women aged 20 and older, by race/ethnicity, 1999-2000: Non-Hispanic White: Overweight: 57.3%; Obese: 30.1%. Non-Hispanic Black: Overweight: 77.3%; Obese: 49.7%. Mexican American: Overweight: 71.9%; Obese: 39.7%.

*Obesity was defined as a body mass index of 30.0 or higher. Overweight was defined as a body mass index of 25.0 or higher, therefore including all those defined as obese.
