The new center (effective October 1, 2003), renamed the National Dissemination Center for Children With Disabilities, serves as a central source of information on Individuals With Disabilities Education Act, the country's special education law; No Child Left Behind, as it related to children with disabilities; and research-based information on effective educational practices. Information is distributed in e-mails, research-focused publications, and links to research materials, projects, and Web sites, and is available in English and Spanish. The dissemination center is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs.
