Cigarette use among high school students in the past 30
days, by grade, 1975-2003 (line graph): 2003: 12th grade,
24.4%; 10th grade, 16.7%; 8th grade, 10.2%. The rate of cigarette
use among 12th graders has decreased. Data for 8th and 10th grade
are unavailable for years prior to 1991, and rates have fluctuated
since that year but overall have not changed noticeably.
