Family Engagement and Retention

In this webinar Dr. Deborah Daro, Research Fellow at Chapin Hall, presented her work on Enrollment and Retention in Voluntary Home Visiting Programs. In her presentation Dr. Daro discussed understanding engagement and enrollment; the challenges; an integrated theory of family engagement, what the research suggests, and strategies for improvement. Also on the webinar were national program model representatives from Healthy Families America, Parents as Teachers and SafeCare who discussed their approach to family enrollment, engagement and retention. A conversation on individual, family and community considerations and how it can affect participation in home visiting programs was led by Dr. Daro with participation from the program model representatives.
