Trains future leaders in a variety of disciplines to improve the health of children who have or are at risk of developing neurodevelopmental disabilities or other similar conditions such as autism and intellectual disabilities.

In August of 2014 the Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education and Support (CARES) Act was signed into law. The bipartisan effort reauthorizes earlier autism-related legislation and continues research initiatives and service provisions for those with an autism spectrum disorder. The law also furthers autism training and monitoring efforts by federal health agencies. HRSA’s implementation of the Autism CARES Act of 2014 included funding to several LEND projects.
