Analysis of women’s health status enables health professionals and policymakers to determine the impact of past and current health interventions and the need for new programs. Trends in health status help to identify new issues as they emerge.
In this section, health status indicators related to morbidity, mortality, health behaviors, and maternal health are presented. New topics include chronic fatigue syndrome, eye health, digestive disorders, endocrine and metabolic disorders, occupational injury, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, intimate partner violence, urologic disorders, and maternal mortality, as well as a discussion of genetics and women’s health.
