Availability of and access to quality health services directly
affect the health and well-being of women. For women with poor health
status, disabilities, poverty, lack of insurance, and limited access
to a range of health services, preventive treatment, and rehabilitation
can be critical in preventing disease and improving women’s
quality of life.
The following section presents data on women’s health services
utilization, including indicators on insurance, usual source of
care, medication use, and use of preventive, dental, hospital, and
mental health services.
