Problem Kentucky is a rural state that continues to face economic hardships. Many rural hospitals and EMS services are ill-prepared to take care of children. The quality of and access to emergency care varies widely. The KYEMSC Program seeks to address disparities by fulfilling HRSA Performance Objectives.

This program addresses the needs of children with hearing loss and their families. Comprehensive coordinated programs will be targeted towards ensuring that newborns and infants are receiving appropriate timely services including screening, evaluation, diagnosis, and early intervention (EI).

Project Description

Families are unable to navigate the service delivery system to obtain the services their child needs. By creating a network of trained Support Parents we will be able to help families and reduce the barriers they experience in receiving needed services and resources.
