Project Description

The purpose of this program is to develop a comprehensive and coordinated statewide Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) system of care targeted towards ensuring that newborns and infants are receiving appropriate and timely services, including screening, evaluation, diagnosis, and early intervention (EI). We are focusing on: 1) increasing health professionals’ engagement within and knowledge of the EHDI system, 2) improving access to EI services and language acquisition, and 3) improving family engagement, partnership, and leadership within the EHDI programs and systems.

Project Description

The Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program supports the delivery of coordinated and comprehensive high-quality and voluntary early childhood home visiting services to eligible families living in at-risk communities. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), which administers this program in partnership with the Administration for Children and Families, funds states, territories, and tribal entities to develop and implement evidence-based programs that best meet the needs of their communities.

Project Description

CYSHCN are those that have or are at risk for having a chronic physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional condition and who require health and related services of a type of amount beyond that required by children generally. Due to the growing numbers of CYSHCN and the complexity of their health care needs, CYSHCN may require a variety of services from multiple, diverse systems and often must access a number of different funding sources to pay for those services. In the CNMI, there are approximately 1,000 children with special healthcare needs, a number based on enrollment data from the local public school system.

Project Description

The SSDI project complements the CNMI Title V MCH Block Grant program by improving the availability, timeliness, and quality of MCH data in the CNMI. Utilization of these data is central to the CNMI’s reporting on the Title V MCH Block Grant program assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation efforts, along with related investments, in the yearly Title V MCH Block Grant application/annual report.
