National Coordinating Committee on School Health and Safety (NCCSHS)

The National Coordinating Committee on School Health and Safety (NCCSHS) brings together federal agencies and national organizations to support programs in our nation's schools that promote healthy, safe and academically successful students.

Members

Formed in 1994 by the secretaries of Education and Health and Human Services, the committee has grown to include five federal departments, the Environmental Protection Agency, and 63 national organizations that work to improve the health of children and their ability to achieve in school.

Meetings

NCCSHS meets twice each year. The spring meeting brings together representatives of all member organizations. The fall meeting convenes a smaller group to focus on current issues in school health and safety.
