Bringing together federal departments and national nongovernmental organizations to support quality, coordinated school health programs

Formed in 1994 by the secretaries of Education and Health and Human Services, the National Coordinating Committee on School Health and Safety (NCCSHS) now includes five federal departments, the Environmental Protection Agency, and 63 national organizations. Together, they work to improve childrens' health and their ability to achieve in school.
