The National
Survey of Children’s Health provides information on the health
and well-being of children in the 50 States and the District of
Columbia (D.C.). This section presents the survey’s findings
for each State and D.C., including the percentage of children who
are overweight; the percentage of children who exercised or participated
in physical activity for at least 20 minutes on 3 or more days during
the past week; the percentage of children who were on a sports team
or took sports lessons during the past 12 months; and the percentage
of children who have parents who exercise regularly. Several of
these indicators are also shown by one or more of the following:
children’s age, family income, and sex. These data are presented
in comparison with the National statistics presented in the previous
section.
