Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM)
The mission of AIM is to support best practices that make birth safer, improve the quality of maternal health care and outcomes, and save lives.
Healthy Start
Recognizing that a mother’s health is connected to the baby’s health, the program helps moms and their families before, during, and after pregnancy. It works in communities with infant mortality rates that are at least one and half times the U.S. national average.
Integrated Maternal Health Services
This program will support comprehensive care (clinical, behavioral health, and support services) for pregnant and postpartum people who have limited access to basic social and health care services.
Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program
This work supports pregnant people in communities that face greater risk and barriers to achieving positive maternal health outcomes. The work responds to the health and social support needs of families.
Rural Maternity and Obstetrics Management Strategies (RMOMS)
Rural mothers have trouble getting care. According to a study published in 2017, more than half of all rural U.S. counties lack hospital obstetric services. This program increases access to maternal and obstetrics care in rural communities.
State Maternal Health Innovation Program
This program funds public health departments and universities to improve maternal health by establishing task forces, improving maternal mortality and morbidity data and its use, and launching new service delivery activities.
Supporting Maternal Health Innovation (MHI) Program
We fund a national resource center—the Maternal Health Learning and Innovation Center—to improve public health systems and provide help to both states and communities.
